Work for us

PSS Assessor vacancies

We are looking to recruit up to four experienced veterinary surgeons motivated to encourage continuous improvement in veterinary practice.  We are seeking assessors to work with practices to comply with our Practice Standards Scheme which has been established in its current form since November 2015. The Scheme also makes awards which focus on behaviours and outcomes, and provide practices with a clear pathway to improvement. Assessing these awards will require good communication and observation skills.

Please view the full candidate brief (including instructions on applying), along with the application form, available to download at the end of this page. All applications should be accompanied by a recent CV. Deadline for applications is midnight Thursday 28 September 2017.

RCVS Ethics Review Panel vacancies

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) launched a one-year trial of an Ethics Review Panel (ERP) which commenced in July 2016. The ERP is intended to provide a mechanism of ethical approval for practice-based veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses who wish to undertake research projects outside the scope of a university and/or industry context.

Following the successes of the trial’s first year, the ERP trial has been extended for a further year and its remit expanded to include consideration of canine, feline, equine and farm animal research projects.

We are seeking to appoint two veterinary surgeon members (to include one equine veterinary surgeon and one farm animal veterinary surgeon) as well as one lay member to sit on the ERP and review applications.

These roles will complement the seven current panel members including the Chair (who is an ethicist) and an existing lay member.
